Abraham

Abraham, originally named Abram, is a key figure in the Bible, known as the founding father of the Abrahamic religions including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He was born in Ur of the Chaldees and is recognized for his covenant with God, which promised him numerous descendants and the land of Canaan. He is the son of Terah and Amathlai. He had two brothers, Haran (deceased) and Nahor. He is the spiritual ancestor of all believers, whether Jewish or non-Jewish. He is a link in the chain of Islamic prophets that begins with Adam and culminates in Muhammad. God promised Abraham that he would become the father of a great nation and that all families of the earth would be blessed through him. He was instructed to leave his homeland and family to go to a land that God would show him, which was Canaan
